Description

The success of a company is very much dependent on how it has positioned itself in the industry. Thus, Michael Porter in the year 1980 gave these Generic Strategies to make it easier for a company to decide. This positioning is based on two main factors - competitive advantage and competitive scope. On its basis, there are three main strategies - 1. Cost Leadership 2. Differentiation 3. Focus The company can also use the integration of two Strategies for different products. But when the company is not clear it is called stuck in the middle and it cannot succeed in the market.
